Jeff Porcaro

[Randy walker]

There is a bootleg video floating around featuring Jeff on drums, the session is from a Tommy Denander cd called Radio Active, the last known session Jeff did before his passing.
The video shows Jeff recording his drum parts with his brother Mike on bass and Tommy playing guitar, also shows David Paich and Steve Porcaro as well. Anyway, I spoke with Tommy today and he is finishing a DVD version of this video with lots of extra pictures and footage, should be on the shelves in September both here in the uS and Europe.
This is indeed a very kewl video to see and watch jeff at his best first learning the tunes and making charts and then laying the part down. Very rocking tunes.

Wow, cheers for that Randy. Please keep us up to speed when it comes out.

Wow, that's great news. I've only heard about this videotape 'floating around' a couple of years ago. I also heard that things weren't that good between Tommy and the band (TOTO) since he made some remarks about Luke's guitarplaying?
Anyway, very cool news...

Thanks Randy

It's very kewl news indeed, especially when you know the video is not pro shot, it's Tommy and his girlfriend just using a camcorder recording for his own purposes. So it's not all fixed and using a script like a drum video.

We have to encourage artists to film in the studio and see all these working drummers. Maybe a webcam would be a solution too. Let's call Sting and ask, would he mind if we say that he sells his CD's mainly because of Vinnie?
